Who we are
Certificate of Authenticity Template at certificateofauthenticitytemplate.com (the "site") is provided by Glenwhisper Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (glenwhisper.com), "we" or "us". HK Business Registration No. 76935415. Registered office: Unit 1603, 16/F, The L. Plaza, 367-375 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.
These terms apply whenever you use the site, including the certificate maker, designs, guides, accounts and forms. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You can reach us through our contact form.
Using the site
You can choose a design, fill it in and preview it without an account. Downloading the finished certificate needs a free account; the blank printable PDFs do not. A signed-in account can store up to 30 images; current limits are always shown on the pricing page.
You may use the certificates you make for any lawful purpose, including with work you sell, and you may send the files to a print shop. You don't need to credit us.
You are the issuer
- A certificate made here is issued by you (the artist, studio, gallery or maker named on it). It states what you know about the work. We do not inspect, appraise, verify or authenticate works, and we do not check what you write.
- Only describe work you have the standing to describe: your own work, work you are authorized to represent, or work whose history you can document. Don't make a certificate for someone else's work as if it were theirs, or for an item you know is not what the certificate says.
- A certificate is a record, not a legal guarantee of provenance or value. If you need a formal appraisal or an expert opinion, ask a qualified professional.
- Keep edition numbers honest: one number per print in an edition, and the same edition total across the run.
Your account
- Give a real email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Tell us through the contact form if you think someone else has used yours.
- You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. That deletes your saved certificates, issuer details and images, as our privacy policy explains.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.
Your photos, logos and text
The photos, logos, signatures and text you add (your "content") are yours. We claim no ownership of them.
- You are responsible for having the right to use every photo, logo and signature you add, such as photos of your own work, your own brand, or a gallery's logo used with its permission. Don't upload anything that infringes someone else's trademark, copyright or other rights.
- If you put someone else's personal details on a certificate, such as a buyer's name, you are responsible for having a good reason to, and for following the data protection law that applies to you.
- You give us permission to store and process your content only as needed to run the site for you: to show your certificate, create your files, keep your saved certificates and provide support. We never use your images to train or run AI models, never sell your content, and our data processing terms below say how we handle it.
If someone tells us that content in a saved certificate infringes their rights or was uploaded unlawfully, we may remove it and will let you know.
Data processing terms
When you save a certificate to your account, we store any personal data on it (for example a buyer's or artist's name) on your behalf. For that data you are the controller and we are your processor (under the UK and EU GDPR), or your data processor (under Hong Kong's PDPO). These terms are our processing agreement with you for it:
- Your instructions only. We process it only to provide the service you use: storing your certificates and issued records, showing them to you when you sign in, and supporting you when you ask. We never use it for our own purposes, never sell it, and never include it in the anonymous design log, the download log or analytics.
- Confidentiality. Only people on our team who need it to run the service or to answer a request from you can access stored certificates, and they must keep them confidential.
- Security. Data travels only over HTTPS. Certificates are stored in our database, images privately in file storage, and both can be read only through your signed-in account. Passwords are stored only as salted PBKDF2 hashes, and sessions only as hashes of their tokens. Certificate files are made in your browser, not on our servers.
- Sub-processors. Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site, the database and file storage. Google LLC (Gmail) holds our team inbox, which receives what you send through the contact form and password-reset requests that a person on our team forwards to you; saved certificate content is never sent there. You authorize these sub-processors. Cloudflare processes stored data under its data processing addendum. We will list any new sub-processor in our privacy policy before it handles your data, and you can delete your certificates or account if you object.
- Transfers. Data may be processed outside the UK and the EU, as our privacy policy describes, under the Standard Contractual Clauses in Cloudflare's data processing addendum.
- Helping you. You can open, correct and delete your certificates yourself at any time. If someone named on a certificate asks you about their data and you need more from us, contact us and we will help. We will give you the information you reasonably need to show that these terms are followed.
- Breaches. If we become aware of a breach affecting your saved certificates, we will tell you without undue delay, with what we know, so you can meet your own obligations.
- Deletion. A certificate you delete is removed for good, with its issued records, 30 days later. Deleting your account removes your certificates, their records and your images right away.
If your gallery or business needs these terms as a separate data processing agreement, contact us and choose "Galleries, print shops or partnerships".
Printing and foil
- Check every detail on the preview before you print: names, title, dates, edition and certificate numbers.
- Print at actual size (100%), not "fit to page", and print one copy on plain paper before you use your good paper.
- The foil package is artwork for your printer to review. Printers have their own requirements for foil, dies and registration. Ask yours to check the files before production; we do not promise that any printer will accept them unchanged.
- A QR code holds only the link you give it. Check that it opens the right page before you print.
Acceptable use
Please use the site fairly. You must not:
- use it to break the law or to deceive people, for example to make a certificate for a forged, copied or misdescribed work, or to impersonate another artist, gallery or authentication service;
- make documents that imitate official papers, grading or appraisal reports, or another company's branded certificates;
- upload content that is unlawful, hateful or infringes someone else's rights;
- try to break, overload or get around the limits or security of the site, share accounts to dodge limits, or scrape it with automated tools in a way that harms other users;
- send spam, malware or abusive messages through the forms.
We may block access from anyone who breaks these rules.
Our designs and your certificates
The site, its design, code, certificate designs and guides belong to Glenwhisper Limited or the people we license them from. You may use our designs to make certificates with Certificate of Authenticity Template, and use and print those certificates freely. Please don't copy or resell the designs themselves, or the site, as your own product. You are welcome to link to any page.
Pricing
During launch every design and every download is free. We plan to offer a Studio plan at $10 per month later, with the eight Studio designs, saved issuer profiles and production exports (professional print PDF, PNG/JPEG, editable SVG and the foil artwork package); Gallery Minimal and Edition Rosette, the ordinary PDF, the blank PDFs and the saved copy of every certificate you download (download again, next edition, correct and reissue) will stay free. Nothing can be bought today. Before anyone can pay, we will announce it on the pricing page and publish terms covering billing, refunds and cancellation, which will apply in addition to these. Certificates you made while they were free stay yours.
Changes to the service
We work to keep the site available and accurate, but the service is provided as it is and as available. We may change, add or remove features, designs, sizes or limits, and we may pause the site for maintenance. Keep your own copy of the certificate files you issue. Where a change takes away something you rely on, we will try to give notice on the site first.
Liability
The site and guides are provided without any promise that they will be error-free or suit your particular purpose, except where the law does not allow such promises to be excluded. Guides are general information, not legal, valuation or professional advice.
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site, including the cost of paper, foil or reprinting, misprints, delays or lost data. Checking the preview and printing one copy on plain paper are the best protection against these.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you use the site as a consumer, you keep all the rights the law gives you.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong can deal with any dispute about them, but they are not the only place you can go (their jurisdiction is non-exclusive).
If you use the site as a consumer, for example in the UK, the European Union or the United States, you keep the protection of any rules in the law where you live that cannot be overridden by a contract, and you can bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it. Before going to court, please tell us what went wrong. Most problems can be fixed with a message.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes, for example when Studio launches. We will change the effective date at the top when we do, and email account holders about meaningful changes. If you keep using the site after an update, the new terms apply. Questions about these terms? Contact us.
