Edition Rosette with a photo and without

With a photo, the artwork sits at the right in a double keyline beside the title, the edition and medium details and the statement. Without a photo, the details form a centered ledger around a fine center line, so the page stays balanced. Without an edition, or with a number too long to read inside the rosette (such as 1000/1000 on A5), the rosette closes into a full guilloche medallion; the details always give the full edition.

What it suits

Best for: Fine art prints and limited editions.

Edition Rosette puts the edition number inside a guilloche rosette at the top of the page, which is exactly where a print collector looks first. The multi-rule border keeps it formal without the weight of a full guilloche frame, so it frames well with a print of almost any style.

A bold outer rule with notched corners and two fine inner rules frame the sheet. Twisted guilloche bands run along the top and bottom, and a large rosette breaks through the top band with the edition number set in its open center. A formal centered title and issuer line sit beneath it, then the work details, the statement and a three-part footer for the signature, certificate number and date.

Fine-art prints, photographs and other limited editions, where the edition number should be the first thing a collector sees.

More on certificates for limited edition prints, and the wording to put on a certificate.

Tip: For an artist proof, choose the artist proof edition type: the rosette shows "AP 2/3" instead of a number in the main edition. For a one-off original, the rosette closes into a full medallion.

Sizes, colors and finishes

Edition Rosette comes in 3 paper sizes and 4 colorways. Every color below opens the editor in that variant; switching later keeps your text and edition.

Sizes

  • US Letter 8.5 × 11 in Landscape (default) or portrait
  • A4 210 × 297 mm Landscape (default) or portrait
  • A5 148 × 210 mm Landscape (default) or portrait

A5 is composed on its own rather than shrunk, so the type stays readable.

Finishes

Preview the metallic areas in gold, silver or no metallic (the design's ink color). The colorways pair with gold or silver by default, and you can switch.

Low ink keeps heavy fills and grounds off the page for home printers.

Downloads

Vector PDF with embedded fonts, PNG or JPEG, an SVG file, and the foil artwork for printer review. All free during launch, with a free account at download.

Design version 3. Reprints of an issued certificate keep the version they were issued with.

How the foil version differs

Foil covers the bold outer border rule and the scalloped crown around the rosette. The fine rosette, bands and inner rules stay in ordinary ink, and the edition number, title and names are never foiled.

Foil artwork for printer review. The download is a ZIP with the full artwork, the ordinary-ink artwork and the foil layer as separate PDFs on the same page size and bleed, plus a preview and a plain-English note for your printer. Your printer confirms the foil, the paper and the tolerances before anything is made. Read how the foil files work.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes does Edition Rosette come in?

US Letter, A4 and a separately composed A5. The A5 layout is redrawn rather than shrunk, so the type stays readable.

Can I use Edition Rosette without a photo?

Yes. The edition layout stays balanced around the rosette. Nothing is left as an empty box.

Is Edition Rosette free?

Yes, free forever. Designing needs no account; downloading the filled certificate needs a free account. Get the blank printable PDF on the free templates page.

Where does the edition number go?

In the open center of the large rosette at the top, so 7/25 is the first thing a collector sees. Without an edition, the rosette closes into a full guilloche medallion.
